Enjoy hot spring bathing amid the beauty of nature
The hotel has 20 guest rooms, 11 in the Main Building and nine in the Annex, each with a balcony offering a view of the majestic mountains of the Hakone caldera. Rooms in the Main Building feature modern interior design with vivid colours that resonate with the works of modern art on the walls, while Annex rooms offer a calm, refined atmosphere, perfect for a longer stay. All rooms have a bath fed continuously with hot spring water. In Main Building rooms, the bathtub is in the room itself, while Annex rooms have a separate bathroom, offering a choice of bathing styles.
The hotel’s finest guest accommodation
The Executive Suite is the Main Building’s most spacious and features an inviting living area, decorated with paintings by Chagall and Miro and furnished with an antique cupboard and modern sofas. On clear days, there is a view of the mountains of the Hakone caldera and Mt Fuji, snow-covered in winter, lush and green during summer. From the balcony or from the luxury of your own hot spring bath, we invite you to enjoy the majestic scenery and clean air, relax and unwind.
The popular Deluxe Twin rooms are the most numerous type in the Main Building and measure around 79m2 including the balcony
Open the door of any guest room in the Main Building and the first thing you notice is the boldly simple design leading straight through from the bedroom to the bathroom, the balcony and the view outside. Deluxe Twin bathrooms feature a continuously fed hot spring bath and a dresser-style washstand with twin basins. Rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors have balconies measuring a generous 10m2, while 1st-floor rooms lead onto a small ornamental Japanese garden.
Cozy rooms decorated with fine art
Superior Twin rooms are decorated with paintings by artists such as Joan Miró and Tamako Kataoka, and feature charming sofas and antique furniture. These simple rooms will sleep two guests, but are also perfect for the solo traveller. On a fine day, they offer a magnificent view of Mt Fuji framed by the mountains of the Hakone caldera.
Measuring over 100m2 including the balcony, these relaxed suites sleep up to four guests and are highly recommended if you are staying more than one night
Junior Suites feature a separate living room and bedroom, and each has a slightly different interior design, including the carefully selected furniture. A separate bathroom featuring a hot spring bath fed continuously with water at the perfect temperature means you can take a bath at any time of day. The Annex stands on higher ground than the Main Building, and the Junior Suites’ spacious balconies offer an outstanding view.
A front row seat for a fabulous view
Comfort Twin rooms, located on the 4th floor of the Annex, measure around 73m2 including the balcony and will sleep up to three guests. The big window gives a great sense of openness. We invite you to relax in an armchair designed by George Nakashima and enjoy the view.
Rooms with a lodge-style ceiling
With a partly sloping ceiling and walls decorated with colourful paintings of Mt Fuji by Japanese artist Tamako Kataoka, Moderate Twin rooms feel like lodges at a mountain resort. The sweeping view of the mountains of the Hakone caldera will make you look forward to getting up in the morning.
Ideal for solo travel or workcations
Studios are the hotel’s most compact type of guest accommodation, but have the same twin semi-double beds (122cm wide by 195cm long), separate bathroom with hot spring bath and amenities as other twin rooms. Studios on the 1st floor measure around 33m2 and look out onto a small ornamental Japanese garden; those on the 4th floor are around 43m2 and are provided with a balcony. All Studios are furnished with a small desk and are highly comfortable and practical spaces.
