On 18 September 2026, the MICHELIN Guide announced its latest hotel distinctions worldwide, and The Hiramatsu Hotels & Resorts Ginoza was selected for One MICHELIN Key for the third consecutive year.

About the MICHELIN Key

The MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection features only properties that meet five universal criteria, and currently includes over 9,400 hotels worldwide. From among these hotels, the MICHELIN Key recognises those that offer particularly outstanding experiences, much as MICHELIN Stars do for restaurants.

In this year’s Japan selection, 398 hotels were included as of 25 September. Of these, 145 were selected as MICHELIN Key hotels: seven with Three MICHELIN Keys, 23 with Two MICHELIN Keys and 115 with One MICHELIN Key.

Five universal criteria
1 The hotel is an open door to the destination
2 Excellence in interior design and architecture
3 Quality and consistency in service, comfort and maintenance
4 Consistency between the level of experience and the price paid
5 Individuality, reflecting personality and authenticity

Accommodation tax will be introduced in Okinawa for stays from 1 February 2027.

Our restaurant has been awarded 3 Toques in Gault & Millau 2026 for the fourth consecutive year, a Paris-born guide evaluating the entire dining experience from reservation to farewell.

Such properties stand out for their thoughtful service, creativity, and a sense of individuality that exceeds expectations for their category.
