A main dining room surrounded by trees

The main dining room’s big windows look out onto the forest. Its walls are decorated with photographs by Jean-Eugene Atget, who captured the atmosphere of Paris in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The private dining rooms have photographs by Man Ray, a beautiful yet also somehow humorous décor in which to enjoy your meal.

Exquisite French cuisine that reflects the bounty of Shinshu

With its clean air and water, the Shinshu region produces a wide variety of highland vegetables, mushrooms, fruit and game. They are in season for only a short time but are cram-full of flavour. AKIO YANAGIHARA

Akio Yanagihara gained a wealth of experience at Hiramatsu group restaurants in Japan and in France. He began visiting local producers two years before The Hiramatsu Karuizawa Miyota opened, and uses only the finest ingredients to offer create a unique culinary experience.

* Diners with accompanying children under 10 years old are invited to enjoy Le Grand Lys’s cuisine in the 5th-floor dining room.
