TAKIBI Lounge

An outdoor lounge with a wood fire that evokes a simpler age

Near the Annex is the Takibi Lounge, an outdoor lounge with a brazier. Jomon period (2,800-2,500 BCE) pottery has been found on the hotel’s grounds, and it’s fun to sit around a fire in a place where people are known to have flourished from ancient times, and imagine life in simpler times. Beyond the brazier is a South African tent. Furnished and decorated in plain wood and earth colours, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind while feeling close to nature, all year round.

Jomon period pottery and modern art

Beyond the entrance is the Lobby Lounge, decorated with works by the Venice-based glass artist Ritsue Mishima and a large painting of Shinshu apples by Kyoji Takubo. The entire hotel, including the guest accommodation, is decorated with Jomon pottery and works by modern artists, charting the history of Miyota from ancient to modern times.
