On 18 September 2026, the MICHELIN Guide announced its latest hotel distinctions worldwide, and The Hiramatsu Karuizawa Miyota was selected for Two MICHELIN Keys for the second consecutive year.

About the MICHELIN Key
The MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection features only properties that meet five universal criteria, and currently includes over 9,400 hotels worldwide. From among these hotels, the MICHELIN Key recognises those that offer particularly outstanding experiences, much as MICHELIN Stars do for restaurants.
In this year’s Japan selection, 398 hotels were included as of 25 September. Of these, 145 were selected as MICHELIN Key hotels: seven with Three MICHELIN Keys, 23 with Two MICHELIN Keys and 115 with One MICHELIN Key.
